We went down to the river to take some water samples. Kids were swimming in the murky waters, and were more than happy to have their pictures taken. Two sisters went down to collect water from a hand-dug well. I asked them if they didn't have brothers to help them - they had five but according to them, were at home and lazy to help them. Tsk, tsk...

the DO levels were low, as has been reported previously by LLDA. maraming sources of pollution, upstream may mga piggeries. where we went, looks like maraming walang toilet....sayang ang potential ng marikina river. it would be nice if we can clean it up, use it for navigation and tourism. With montalban mountains in the background..ganda mag river cruise!

yes, i agree, it has the countryside feel. at ang lapit lang, accessible from qc or fom marikina. maybe you are familiar with the directions. kami we went down via batasan, then turn right when we got to a T intersection somewhere..magic, san mateo na! di ko nga nakunan yung palayan.
